Following the current executive order from the state of Minnesota to stay at home, all Metro North Adult Basic Education (ABE) sites will be closed to the public. There will be no in-person classes, intake, assessment testing, or GED testing until May 5, 2020, to assure the health and safety of students, teachers, staff, and volunteers. As information regarding the COVID-19 situation changes often, we will continue to update our announcements and programming to best serve our community.

English as a Second Language (ESL)
English language classes are offered to support adults who may be immigrants or refugees. The curriculum is designed to fulfill learner's practical needs by teaching everyday language focused on survival skills and everyday living. In addition, the classes improve proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, math, and writing English.
United States (U.S.) citizenship
Metro North Adult Basic Education (ABE) offers free U.S. citizenship classes several times each year for learners who want to prepare to take the citizenship test. The program is free of charge to current Metro North ABE students.
