Following the current executive order from the state of Minnesota to stay at home, all Metro North Adult Basic Education (ABE) sites will be closed to the public. There will be no in-person classes, intake, assessment testing, or GED testing until May 5, 2020, to assure the health and safety of students, teachers, staff, and volunteers. As information regarding the COVID-19 situation changes often, we will continue to update our announcements and programming to best serve our community.

Metro North - Elk River
Metro North-Elk River offers Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language classes in Room 221 in the Handke Center, 1170 Main St., which is on the corner of Main and Proctor. Enter Door 5 off the parking lot and get a visitor badge from the Community Education office during the hours of 8am-5pm. After 5pm, a building supervisor can assist you if you have questions or you may come to the classroom.To better serve new students, please schedule an intake appointment.
Secondary Credential Options: GED, Credit Recovery Adult Diploma, Minnesota State Standard Adult Diploma
Basic Skills Brush-up: for College Prep, Employment or self-enrichment
English as a Second Language - ESL: learn and improve reading, writing, listening and speaking the English language.
Employability Skills: resume, career exploration, interviewing, or job hunting
Digital Literacy/Computer Skills: NorthStar Digital Literacy Certification; learn basic computer and keyboarding skills
