• Metro North - Elk River

    Metro North-Elk River offers Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language classes in Room 221 in the Handke Center, 1170 Main St., which is on the corner of Main and Proctor. Enter Door 5 off the parking lot and get a visitor badge from the Community Education office during the hours of 8am-5pm.  After 5pm, a building supervisor can assist you if you have questions or you may simply come to the classroom.

    Classes Offered:

    Secondary Credential Options: GED, Credit Recovery Adult Diploma, Minnesota State Standard Adult Diploma

    Basic Skills Brush-up: for College Prep, Employment or self-enrichment

    English as a Second Language - ESL: learn and improve reading, writing, listening and speeaking the English languae.

    Employability Skills: resume, career exploration, interviewing, or job hunting

    Digital Literacy/Computer Skills: Northstar Digital Literacy Certification; learn basic computer and keyborading skills

    ABE/ESL class time

    • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 
    • Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 - 4 p.m.
    • Wednesday from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m.
