Bridge to Benefits
Bridge to Benefits is a project by Children’s Defense Fund-Minnesota to improve the well-being of families and individuals by linking them to public work support programs and tax credits. By answering a few simple questions, you will be able to see if you or someone else may be eligible for public work support programs. You will NOT be asked for information that identifies you.

Many Metro North ABE students also have children to care for. Local counties may be able to provide you with childcare assistance and support resources.

Metro North ABE is proud to partner with local careerforce centers to create opportunities for students to build skills and identify employment opportunities. The Minnesota CareerForce Center helps job seekers and provides many employment resources.

- PANDA - Minnesota ABE Disabilities provides resources and information for individuals with disabilities.
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
- NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
Alexandra House
- Alexandra House supports everyone who is affected by domestic and sexual violence and abuse in later life. We are a resource for victims and survivors of sexual violence in any form. We also offer support to friends and family of victim/survivors and other concerned persons.

Minnesota ABE Programs
Literacy Action Network (LAN)
Literacy Action Network works to develop, improve, and expand adult literacy services by coordinating public policy and legislative advocacy, fostering statewide collaboration, and supporting quality ABE services.
Minnesota Adult Basic Education
Minnesota Adult Basic Education (ABE) is a state-wide system that serves approximately 65,000 adults annually.

Transcript Translation
Do you have a diploma from outside the United States? Colleges and places of employment will often accept high school or college diplomas from outside the United States. However, they require a translation of your transcript into English. We have referred students to the two sites below. However, we recommend that you research both and see which one is best for you.

Transportation
Metro North ABE has multiple locations that are located on Metro Transit bus lines. There are also other transportation services available in our region to help get students to class.
Metro Transit
Metro Transit is the transportation resource for the Twin Cities, offering an integrated network of buses, light rail and commuter trains as well as resources for those who carpool, vanpool, walk or bike. It added a light-rail link between downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul in mid-2014 and is developing enhanced transitways throughout the region.
Metro MobilityMetro Mobility is a shared public transportation service for certified riders who are unable to use regular fixed-route buses due to a disability or health condition. Rides are provided for any purpose.
Car Repair Assistance
Anoka County has two options for assistance with car repairs Cars for Neighbors provides assistance for car repairs. The Anoka County Transportation Solutions Program provides car repair, insurance and licensing assistance.

U.S. Citizenship Test Practice
Metro North ABE does offer some Citizenship Test preparation. For students who would like to study and prepare for the test, but can't participate in one of our classes, we have some choices for practicing for the citizenship test here.
