Level 7 Writing: My goal is to study English

by Anne M.

English has been very important to me since I arrived in America.

Once I had the necessary identification documents, my husband helped me enroll in an English as a Second Language Course. My mother tongue is Vietnamese, which added to the challenge.

My primary goal at Metro North has been to successfully complete my English course and enhance my language proficiency. Initially, everything seemed incredibly challenging. When I first enrolled and had my English level asses, I was at Level 2. However, after dedicating four years to studying English at Metro North, I have made remarkable progress, on reaching level 7. Achieving this has been my main objective since I decided to join Metro North, and it has required continuous effort and determination.

While I initially believed that learning English would be straightforward, I quickly realized the depth of its complexity.

In addition to English, I have expanded my knowledge in various subjects, including U.S. history and mathematics, and have read articles and books about influential figures in American history. This comprehensive education has been a valuable part of my coursework.

Throughout my years of study. I have found that Metro North's classes are not only useful but also instrumental in building my confidence in English communication.

My ultimate goal is to complete my coursework, obtain my GED in the future, and potentially pursue career-oriented classes in college. I believe that this path will enable me to find a rewarding and fulfilling job that I am passionate about in the future.
