Volunteer of the Year
The volunteers of Metro North ABE play a vital role. They motivate, inspire, and mentor learners. Serving over 4,000 learners a year would be impossible without the over 200 volunteers who help us. While all our volunteers are amazing and special, it’s always important to recognize and celebrate a volunteer that has gone above and beyond for our learners.
Judith Free, a Metro North ABE volunteer from the Elk River Adult Learning Center, was recognized as Volunteer of the Year from ISD 728 on June 3rd. She was given a personalized plaque and certificate to commemorate the honor with colleagues and students joining her through a video conference.
Judy makes an obvious difference in many of our students' lives. Her warm, caring, and patient personality has helped many to achieve academic and social growth. Volunteers like her are a vital part of our mission and community, and she makes heartfelt connections with our learners. Judy is extremely dependable, and she rises to meet any challenge. She helps each and every one of our learners to know they are valued.
Like many of the volunteers at Metro North, Judy came to us with professional teaching experience and just felt compelled to give more. Judy fully embodies our mission and our vision, and we are forever appreciative of her support at Metro North ABE.
