Volunteers Ask the Right Questions
Could you respond to the following questions:
- What does the constitution do?
- Name three of the original 13 states?
- Or name one of the authors of the Federalist papers?
Now imagine doing so during an oral interview of 100 questions on U.S. History and Government, which is what students need to do to pass their U.S. Citizenship test!
At the end of the 10-week citizenship class, students preparing to take the exam sit down with volunteers for a mock interview. Volunteers help students identify areas where they need more practice and help them gain confidence going into their interview. Past participants have reported that this is a valuable preparation that helps them pass the exam.
