Metro North ABE-Elk River is located in Room 221 in the Handke Center, 1170 Main St. NW, on the corner of Main and Proctor.  If you want to become an ABE or ESL student, please fill out the class interest form, email abe@isd728.org, or call 763-241-3400 X5525 to begin enrollment.

ABE classes

GED, Credit Recovery Adult Diploma, Minnesota State Standard Adult Diploma, brush up for reading, writing, math, college/Accuplacer preparation

• Independent, self-paced, online programs with teacher support available
• Online classes with a teacher and small groups
• In-person independent study
  • Tuesday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 
  • Tuesday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
  • Monday, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes

Reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills

• Online classes on Wednesday and Thursday in the evening
• In-person classes Tuesday-Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
• In-person independent study with teacher support available
