Volunteering with Metro North ABE

Matching Volunteers with Opportunties

Looking for a new volunteer experience?  Great!  We are always looking for great volunteers. Here are a few of our on-going volunteer opportunties:

  • Classroom aide
  • Computer lab assistant
  • ESL ELL Aide
  • Office support
  • Instructor/co-instructor
  • Intake/assessment aide
  • Special projects

Interested in Volunteering?

STEP 1 - Inquire

  • Contact Sarah Berres at 763-783-4920 or Sarah.Berres@anoka.k12.mn.us for more information about volunteering with Metro North ABE. 
  • Schedule to attend an upcoming orientation.

STEP 2 - Attend volunteer orientation

  • Learn about Metro North and adult basic education.
  • Meet one-on-one with staff to match your interests with our current needs.

STEP 3 - Begin volunteering

  • Attend Pre-Service training or provide proof of supplemental training; Teaching certificate, TESL or TOEFL.
  • Volunteer department will send your site placement information.
  • Start your service!

The volunteers at Metro North Adult Basic Education (ABE) sites more than assist in the classroom. They encourage, inspire, and mentor learners to achieve their fullest potential.
